A. Age Limits & Category Relaxations

  • Technical Officer: Maximum 30 Years as on the closing date.
  • Technician (1): Maximum 28 Years as on the closing date.
  • Age Relaxations: SC/ST candidates get 5 years; OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) gets 3 years; PwBD candidates receive 10 years of upper age relaxation.

B. Academic and Technical Qualifications

  • For Technical Officer (Physics/Electronics): B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent in Electronics / Electronics & Communication (ECE) / Electronics & Instrumentation / Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) with a minimum of 55% marks. OR M.Sc. in Physics / Electronics / Applied Electronics with at least 55% marks.
  • For Technical Officer (Computer Science): B.E. / B.Tech / M.Sc. in Computer Science / IT with minimum 55% marks OR a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree.
  • For Technician (1) Posts: Matriculation / 10th Class Standard pass with Science subjects from a recognized board with a minimum of 55% marks, plus a valid ITI Certificate (National/State Trade Certificate) in the respective trade (Electronics Mechanic, Electrician, Wireman, or Draughtsman).

3. Selection Mechanism & Exam Architecture

Stage 1: Trade Test / Practical Screening (Qualifying)

Candidates applying for both posts are subjected to an initial practical Trade/Skill evaluation. This stage is strictly of qualifying nature; scores are not added to the final selection index.

Stage 2: Competitive Written Examination

Shortlisted candidates from the Trade Test must attempt an OMR-based or Computer-Based Objective Examination consisting of three distinct papers conducted on the same day.

  • Paper-I (Mental Ability Test): 50 Questions (100 Marks). No Negative Marking. Only qualifying in nature.
  • Paper-II (General Awareness & English Language): 50 Questions (150 Marks). Negative marking applies (-1 mark per wrong answer).
  • Paper-III (Concerned Subject/Trade Specific): 50 Questions (150 Marks for TO) / 100 Questions (300 Marks for Tech). Negative marking applies (-1 mark per wrong answer).

Crucial Rule: The final selection list and merit ranking are compiled based solely on the marks obtained combined in Paper-II and Paper-III.
