The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, invites applications from motivated undergraduate students for the Summer Undergraduate Research Internship 2026. This program is hosted by the Quantum Nanoelectronics & Devices Laboratory in the Department of Physics.

Project Tracks Available

Candidates are encouraged to select their top 3 project preferences from the following tracks:

• Track A: Experimental Nanofabrication & Characterization (e.g., 2D heterostructures, low-noise electronics, AFM-assisted lithography).
• Track B: Theory & Computational Modeling (e.g., Landau level modeling, Moiré miniband formation, quantum Hall physics).
• Track C: Machine Learning & Computer Vision for the Lab (e.g., ML classification of graphene flakes, automated feature extraction).
• Track D: Scientific Software & Instrumentation (e.g., Python/MATLAB tools for instrument control and real-time visualization).

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Background: Undergraduate students in Physics, EE, ECE, ME, Materials Science, or related STEM disciplines.
• Skills: Proficiency in at least one area: Lab work, Coding (Python/MATLAB), or Data Analysis.
• Commitment: Must be available to stay on campus in Bangalore for the full 2–3 month duration.
