Eligibility Criteria

• Education: M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, or Life Sciences with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks at both Graduate and Post-Graduate levels.

  • CSIR-UGC NET (JRF Only)
  • GATE (2025/2026)
  • JEST (2026)
  • ICMR-JRF / DBT-BET (for Life Sciences)
• Age Limit: Maximum 28 years (as of the application deadline). Standard age relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting: Based on valid scores in national-level qualifying exams (GATE/NET/JEST).
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a rigorous technical interview at BARC, Mumbai.

Ans: BARC is a constituent institution of the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed to be University. Fellows will register for a Ph.D. under HBNI.

Ans: Yes, provided they can produce their final mark sheet and degree certificate at the time of joining (usually by August 2026).

Q3: Is there any bond for the fellowship?

Ans: No, there is no service bond for JRF, but the fellowship is purely for research training.
