Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)

• Engineering Students: Students currently pursuing B.E. / B.Tech (completed at least 4 semesters) or M.E. / M.Tech in relevant branches.
• Science Students: Students pursuing B.Sc. / M.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry).
• Humanities: Students in relevant Social Science disciplines.
• Academic Record: Candidates should have a strong academic background with a consistent CGPA/Percentage.

Internship Benefits

1. Stipend: Selected interns will receive a consolidated stipend to cover expenses during the internship.
2. Certification: A certificate will be issued by IIT Palakkad upon successful completion of the project and submission of a report.
3. Hostel Facilities: On-campus accommodation may be provided based on availability (chargeable).
4. Research Exposure: Hands-on experience with advanced laboratory equipment and research methodologies.

Selection Process

• Shortlisting: Based on academic merit, the statement of purpose (SOP), and the area of research interest.
• Selection List: The list of selected candidates will be published on the IIT Palakkad website by the second week of April 2026.

2. Navigate to the “SITP 2026 Application” link.
3. Fill in your personal details and academic qualifications.
4. Upload a Statement of Purpose (SOP) explaining your research interests.
5. Upload a recommendation letter or “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) from your Head of Department (HOD) at your parent institute.
6. Submit the form before the deadline: 25 March 2026.
