2. Eligibility Criteria (As of June 18, 2026)
A. Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications to be considered eligible:
- Matriculation / 10th Class pass or equivalent with Science subjects from a recognized board with a minimum of 55% marks.
- IT Certificate: A valid ITI Certificate (National Trade Certificate – NTC) in the respective trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.
- Alternative Qualification: National/State Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant trade OR 2 years of regular full-time experience as an apprentice training helper from a government recognized organization.
B. Age Limit
- Maximum Upper Age: 28 Years as on the last date of application closing.

- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
- SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years
- PwBD / Ex-Servicemen: As per government norms.
3. Salary Structure & Pay Level
Positions belong to the Technical Cadre of CSIR and offer central government benefits.
- Pay Matrix Level: Level 2 (7th CPC Pay Matrix)
- Pay Scale: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200
- Initial Basic Pay: ₹19,900 per month

4. Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection process is carefully structured to test both practical skills and theoretical aptitude.
Stage 1: Trade Test (Qualifying Nature)
- Eligible candidates will first be called for a practical Trade Test in their respective ITI fields.
- The Trade Test is purely qualifying. Candidates who pass the trade test will be shortlisted for the competitive written examination.
Stage 2: Competitive Written Examination
The written examination consists of three papers conducted on the same day.
